Afghanistan has announced that it would provide multiple entry visas for the long term to business people of India with an intention of building economic ties with India.
Abdali, Ambassador of Afghanistan in India, said that a MoU known as ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ would be signed very soon between FIEO known as ‘Federation of Indian Exports Organizations’ and EPAA known as ‘Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan’, intended to provide information on the requirements from both the countries and exchange programmes.
He also said that Afghanistan government has announced the New Investment Incentive Policy intended to attract investment for long term in areas such as export promotion, construction, industry, mining and agriculture. The investors in these areas would be offered residence free of rent for a period of five years, concession on electricity and import of the machinery without any necessity to pay tax.
India exports tobacco, jewellery and gems, handmade filament apparels and pharmaceuticals predominately to Afghanistan, whereas India imports lac which includes Gums and Resins from Afghanistan.
