Bahrain considers implementing new visa policy

Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has announced the nation’s plan to implement new visa policy in 2015 for nationals from 64 countries to facilitate one month visa-on-arrival.

The new policy also includes the allowance of visa renewal for further three months. India, South Africa, Pakistan, European nations and South American nations are listed among the new countries.

The decision to amend the visa policy has come after considering the investor structure in Bahrain. The total foreign direct investment into Bahrain was $989 million in 2013, revealing an increase of 11 percent when compared to 2012.

Kamal bin Ahmed, Transportation Minister and acting CEO of the EDB said that the new policy enables over 100 nations to avail the benefits of Middle East’s economy easily and quickly.
