Bangladesh initiates measures to provide 'visas on arrival' for Omanis

In order to improve its bilateral relationship with Oman, Bangladesh has initiated or taken a step to provide visas to Omanis on arrival so as to boost bilateral relationship between the 2 nations, according to a senior officer of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Muscat.

Sheikh Sekander Ali, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Oman has said that 1,100 Omanis, who come to Bangladesh yearly for business, tourism, employment of workers and to take part in religious gatherings, would be benefitted .He also said that people would attain 1 month visas at the airports of Bangladesh by spending an amount of OMR12 for the visa fee or an equal amount in dollars.

Bangladesh expects that this would enhance its business relationship with Oman.

Highlighting the improved bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Oman, Mr Sheikh Sekander Ali has said that the past few years were considered to be very important for both the nations.
 
The foreign minister of Bangladesh had visited Oman in April 2012 and had set a new course for the mutual relations

‘Bangladesh Biman’ and ‘Oman Air’ run a great number of flights on a weekly basis, establishing bridges between the two countries

Furthermore, Bangladesh’s United Airways (BD) Limited would start its flight on the Chittagong-Muscat-Chittagong line, from 15th April, 2014.

As per the officials, there would be 3 flights on a weekly basis from Chittagong to Muscat which would be functioning on Saturday, Thursday and Tuesday. These aforesaid flights would leave from Chittagong at 22:30 hours on those days, and would return from Muscat on Friday, Wednesday and Monday, at 02:30 hours.
