Bureau of immigration draws on new visa stickers

Bureau of immigration initiated the implementation of new security visa stickers as part of government’s upgraded program to match with the superior practices fulfilled by counterpart agencies.

Siegfred Mison, BI Commissioner, said that the Bureau came up with technology in making security visa stickers for temporary visitor’s visa, long-stay visitor visa extension and special study permits.

Security visa stickers for temporary visitor’s visa will be available at the chief offices in Makati, Cebu, Davao, Baguio and Intramuros. These stickers can be detected only by specially trained immigration officers.

Over 200 new passport readers have been bought for allotment in airports across the country to identify signs of forgery passports, alteration and insertion. Further, a new batch of passport readers is likely to arrive by the end of this month, which will moderate congestion at the immigration counters.
