Simplified visa regime for Bulgarian travelers moving to Canada

Effective 2016, Bulgarians who hold a Canadian visa during the previous few years and non-immigrant visa holders for the US would be able to visit Canada without a grant.

In a letter to the Prime Minister of Bulgarian, Boyko Borisov, his Canadian complements Stephen Harper told that under a pronouncement by the Canadian representatives, Bulgarian tourists to the nation who abide by those eligibility criteria would only have to enroll in Canada's eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization), the government of Bulgaria said in a press statement.

This came into effect few weeks, following the visit by Rumyana Bachvarova, Bulgaria's new Interior Minister, to the North American country.

Harper is stated as saying that the proposal would make visits of many Bulgarian nationals simpler, hoping it would also direct to a growth and expanding of mutual relations.
