Canada to open consulate office in Bangalore

A new Consulate General Office of Canada is to be opened in Bangalore on 26th February, 2014. The consulate general office of Canada will be located at the World Trade Centre, Bangalore. The supervision of immigration and visa services is the work of this new consulate general office. The services of this office will cover the whole of South India. The office is supposed to cater to the needs of Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. The services will commence from April, 2014, according to the officials of High Commission of Canada.
 
This is the 3rd consulate office of Canada in India, the first two being in Mumbai and Chandigarh. Canada has its consulate office in Chennai and trade offices in Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmadabad. The first trade office in India was opened in 1996 at Bangalore. According to the statement released by the Canada High Commission’s office, it wants to reinforce strong commercial relations and make business easier by providing visa and immigration services. Since a number of Indian citizens are eyeing to study abroad and pursue higher education abroad, this new office would also assist the students to meet the admission process of educational institutes of Canada.
