Chris Alexander on tour to India to strengthen business relations
With this trip, the delegation will be able to showcase Canada’s commercial strengths in India, thus promoting Canada as the best destination for investment and provide a platform for businesses to benefit from investment and trade options.
Alexander stated that he will also underline the amendments in economic immigration policy such as the new Express Entry system and the start-up visa program. Later on, he will tour Bengaluru to celebrate the inauguration of a new visa office.
Alexander mentioned that bilateral relations between India and Canada reached $5.8 billion dollars in 2013 and has doubled during the last two years. Over 1.1 million people are residing in Canada and over 33,000 Indian citizens have become permanent residents in Canada.
Alexander stated that Canadian government is proud to take part in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which is to be held for seventh time. It is expected that this summit will reinforce the relation between India and Canada by strongly emphasizing on business options, sharing experiences and trading ideas.
