The Council of the European Union has officially decided to approve visa-free travel to the Schengen area for almost 300,000 citizens of British Overseas Territories.
This will allow 300k Citizens of British Overseas Territories to freely travel to 28 countries in Europe from the end of June 2014.
The program is believed to be a result of very good cooperation between Governments of Overseas Territories and the United Kingdom, besides of severe negotiations of the European Commission to add Overseas Territories to the list of Third countries permitted to visa free travel.
The Convent spokesperson said that the improvement is expected to benefit citizens of UK and Overseas Territories, which is an existing example of the UK administration meeting its assurances to the Overseas Territories.
