Dubai health authority (DHA) in partnership with General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) made health insurance coverage compulsory in order to issue new visa and renewal, all employers and sponsor's shall necessarily comply with new regulations.

The new enforcement Will take effect from 1st Aug 2015, after the completion of phase II which ends on 31st July 2015. The companies comes under phase III implementation which is going to end on 30th June 2016 are exempted to this, as they have time until june 2016 to comply with regulations.

During phase I of the implementation which was ended on 31st Oct2014, any company with above 1000 employees have covered with insurance. Companies with employees 100 to 999 were taking part during the phase II implementation which is going to be ended by 31st July 2015, during which employer should provide health insurance to every employee.

DHA officials says the program essential need is to comply and had a access of good health access to every expat residents working in every capacity of work in Dubai. So far, 2.3 millions have received insurance during the two phase implementation process, which shows very positive response by the employers and sponsors about the reception of the program.

Remaining companies with employees below than 100 are required to be covered with health insurance by the end of July 2016. All workers ranging in evry occupation, dependents and spouses should also be covered by that time.
