It is an important immigration model in transforming the Canada’s immigration system to flexible, fast, and meeting the labor and economic needs of the Canada.

This proposed immigration model would facilitate in filling the vacant jobs in Canada, will help for better flexibility and responsiveness to meet the labor shortages. Candidates who have received a nomination or valid job offer from the Provincial Nominee program (PNP) will be instantly welcomed to apply for PR or permanent residency and it is the important difference between the “Express Entry” and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, that is actually used to fill temporary labor shortages.

“Express Entry” is earlier known as “Expression of Interest”. This Express Entry will facilitate government in selecting the best candidates who will succeed in Canada, instead of giving importance to candidates first in line. This will also eliminate backlogs and help Citizenship and Immigration Canada to better manage large volumes of applications to meet the yearly immigration plans.

Eligible candidates under this immigration model can expect faster processing times of 6 months or even less than that when they are welcomed to Canada under the 4 economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and part of the PNP program.

With the “Express Entry” into force, companies will play an important role in selecting the best candidates and giving advice to government.
