Family visit visa ‘confined to six months’

Official spokesman of Jeddah passport division recently announced new norms for overseas visitors arriving to the region through visitor visas. As per the new norms, individuals arriving to the nation can stay in the country for six months, which is to a maximum period of 180 days.

The stay duration starts from the day of visitors’ arrival and registration of passport in the concerned computerized department of the kingdom, according to Lt. Col. Ahmed bin Fahad Al-Luhaidan. Applicants or residents who are planning to extend their visas can avail the newly commenced electronic family extension visa service by visiting the passport department of the country.

Few months ago, Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud allowed expatriate laborers to extend their near and dear ones’ visit visas to the year end of 2014. In response to that, the ministry has received lots off applaud from expatriates for making improvements in renewing of visit visas.
