India to give multi-entry business visa to Pakistan

India announces a multiple entry business visa for up to three years to the Pakistani businessmen with sound financial credibility’s; the multiple entry business visas will allow the Pakistanis to visit about 15 places in India.

Kiren Rijju, minister of state for home said the instructions issued on 7th July by the Indian government granting a multiple entry visa for up to three years to the special category Pakistani businessmen with assured credentials and sound financial standing.

Rijju also said the business visa will be given for up to a period of five years and even for lesser duration according to the requirement of the nationals belonging to SAARC countries with the exception of citizens from Bhutan, Nepal and Pakistan. 

While the citizens of Bhutan and Nepal does not require any visa to enter India. However, certain category citizens of Pakistan are currently eligible for the grant of multiple entry business visas with a period of 1 year and are restricted to only ten places.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the business visa with a validity of 3-5 years for all the citizens of SAARC countries, during the last SAARC summit held in Katmandu, in a move to boost the regional countries across the South Asia.

Rijju, replying the query on the extension of visa e-tourist facility to all SAARC countries, said at present only Sri Lanka has been covered under this scheme. "The inclusion of additional countries in the e-tourist visa scheme is a continuous process which is done after consultation with all stakeholders," he added.
