Indians top applicants for Austin permanent visas study reveals

Indians have constituted approximately 50% of Austin permanent visa applications

Indian applicants have accounted for nearly 50 percent of the total 283 Austin’s permanent visa applications during 2012 and 2013, revealed a study conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

According to the study, Indians have constituted 141 visa applications out of which 121 were approved.

China, Canada, Mexico, Taiwan and South Korea are few other countries whose nationals have constituted the major share of Austin’s permanent visa applications.

Freescale Semiconductor Inc, Ascendant Technology and PayPal Data Services Inc. are the top three companies in Austin that have applied for permanent visas, which had 82, 12 and 10 applications respectively. 

The newcomers approved of their permanent visas are likely to get employed in Austin’s workforce as software developers. Engineering managers hold the next position followed by electronics engineers with regards to job titles. Significant numbers of employees have been coming to work in Austin majorly in the field of Information Technology. Finance and retail are the next considerable fields for new comers.
