Over 3,500 Canada Citizenship Applications will be granted

Montreal, a city in Quebec-Canadian province, has encouraged around 3,500 new Canadians headed from more than 70 nations.

These ceremonies demonstrate how the Canadian Government is working in order to make the citizenship program more efficient, and assisting more individuals to recognize their vision of becoming a Canadian.

Latest amendments to the Citizenship Act, which obtained royal assent, will facilitate other developments to the effectiveness of the citizenship program. The latest efficient decision-making process and further reforms to the Citizenship Act are likely to bring down the citizenship applications processing time to below one year and minimize the backlog for citizenship application over 80% by 2015-16.

The citizenship ceremony indicates a formal entry to the Canadian family for new Canadians. At this event, the government will formally disclose rights, privileges, advantages and accountabilities of being a Canadian citizen.

Over 150,000 fresh Canadians have been received throughout Canada till date, which is twice to the number of new nationals during the same period in previous year.

Over 10,000 people will be issued with Canadian citizenship in Montréal and other areas.
