Myanmar to launch new regional single visa soon

Myanmar government’s visa department is planning to bring the new visa option into force during the Malaysian tenure as a chair for ASEAN nations.

Due to opposition from few of the officials, former plan of provincial visa exception agreements was postponed, says the director general of visa subdivision, U Sein Oo.

Myanmar’s government is planning to put forth the new smart visa program to aid the ASEAN nationals. Like the Schengen Visa of Europe, the new proposal would also help the non-ASEAN individuals to tour through their regions effortlessly without any constraints with a single visa.

Since the year 2006, the member states of ASEAN are striving hard to put forward the visa free travel option for its nationals to  surge the in-bound tourism that would reportedly aid in enhancement of economy of its nations.

Residents of Cambodia and Thai are travelling hassle-free with this new visa-free facility and now the citizens of Myanmar can tour to regions of Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei for up to 14 days effortlessly, says the officials of visa department.

Managing director of Marketing Research Development, department of Myanmar noted that the new common smart visa system aids in enhancing the economic and business markets of the nations.

Few of the officials have also noted that this smart visa system also aids all the non-ASEAN residents to make a trip to ASEAN nations smoothly.
