New visa rules for UAE's citizens travelling to Turkey
Emirati people who are currently able to obtain visa on arrival to Turkey, now need  to apply for an electronic visa in advance for entry into Turkey and this rule comes into effect from 10th April.

The director of consular services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al Dhahiri, said the new visa rule for entering into Turkey came into effect on 17th April 2013, and it requires travelers to attain a new electronic visa instead of earlier sticker visa which are/were issued at the borders of Turkey. The Turkish ministry officials also stated that temporarily their office will accept both sticker and electronic visas until 10th April. And after this date, Turkish authorities will accept only electronic visas.

Al Daheri said that the citizens can make use of the official e-visa website to apply for a new visa to visit turkey, filling the visa form by using the data that is available in the traveler’s passport and can make fee payment by credit card. It is important to ensure that the passports must be valid at least 6 months during the application stage.

The expected response time is 24 hours. After getting the final approval, visitors can take the visa print out and have to present it at the borders of Turkey’s entry and crossing points.
