The growing New Zealand economy is continuously attracting a large number of migrants from overseas. A year till June hits a record number of migrants touching 58,300 most of it led by the students from India and China.
An official figure for the June month shows a gain of 4,800, which is a 9 percent increase from the last year June.
India contributes 13,300 migrants with three-quarters of them were students. China migrant’s accounts 10,300 with half of them being students. But, United Kingdom produced the highest number of migrants 13,500 with most having work visas on the list of new arrivals to New Zealand.
According Statistics New Zealand, countries such as Australia, China and the United States contributes the most number of visitors for both the month of June and a year till June.
The recent migration trends shows, there is a low in the departure from New Zealand to Australia, at the same time high inflow of temporary migrants with a work visa and student visas.
The total net gains of migrants in the month of June led by the countries India (12,000), china (8,000), Britain (4,300) and the Philippines (4,300).
