Barack Obama to gear visa alternative for business investors

Barack Obama, president of the U.S. has promised to make the visa process hassle-free and quicker for overseas entrepreneurs who wish to work in the country.

All the details regarding the new scheme of parole status for overseas business executives were given in memo that was let out by the Department of Homeland security.

Parole status is issued only for medical relief or humanitarian aid as a mode to enter into U.S. without possessing any visa. However, this new service offered by the federal government can be used by all start-up founders, investors and researchers to visit and stay in the country for indefinite duration.

Initially, to launch a business by obtaining an H-1B visa for overseas entrepreneurs used to be a difficult task, but now the process has became easy for applicants who wish to start-up their new business.

To be eligible for a skilled worker visa, one has to just demonstrate that they are job creators and innovative workers.  Out of 1,200 request the USCIS is about to accept only 25% parole applications.

Currently there is no clearness regarding the type of visa the overseas investors are eligible for and the duration of time they are allowed to stay in the country. DHS memo is only an advice according to Cohen. The USCIS has to put it into practice later.
