One in five people of Australia have supported for the rise in the immigration levels of the country, while approximately 50 percent of them have backed the current immigration levels, according to a survey.
Almost 22% of the people, who were questioned for Newpoll, said that they are in support of more intakes of immigrants when compared to the existing 190,000 immigrants, who arrived in the country previous year.
Young and high earners residing in the cities, who supported higher intake have constituted 24 % of respondents.
Around 18% said that they wish to see immigrants arriving from countries of Asia while 20% said that they back the arrival of people from African countries.
