Philippines is ready to start online visa application system by the end of this year for the nationals of Taiwan to make the visa procedure more simple and convenient, according to Antonio Basilio, Philippines’ representative to Taiwan.
He said that The ‘Manila Economic and Cultural Office’ is presently finding out ways to provide more easier and convenient visa process for Taiwanese visitors to visit Southeast Asian country.
At present, Taiwanese applicants have to visit Manila Economic Cultural office (MECO) to submit their applications and can acquire a visa in a day. Philippines also grants multiple entry visas to business travelers of Taiwan to make their travel easy.
In 2011, a total number of 178,876 nationals of Taiwan have visited Philippines, 129,361 in 2013 and 211,385 in 2012
Philippines has been encouraging local tourism to attract more number of Taiwanese tourists to enter the country.
