United Arab Emirates nationals may very soon need not require Schengen visa for visiting the EU (European Union) countries. A top official from UAE announced that European Union’s Security and Policy Committee gave the final endorsement for the visa waiver.
The endorsement requires the final approval from the European Parliament, Committee on Civil liberties has approved the visa waiver, said Head of the United Arab Emirates Mission to EU and UAE Ambassador to Belguim, Sulaiman Hamed Al Mazroui.
He said that after thorough study of economic, security, tourist and trade aspects, the committee had given its approval.
Al Mazroui stated that visa waiver will come into effect after the completion of all the formalities, it is expected that in the coming weeks, European Parliament will vote on the visa-free resolution.
The latest move by the European Union was only because of the relentless efforts made by the Foreign Affairs ministry under the direction of Shaik Abdullah Bin Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The committee on civil liberties included the UAE to the list of fifteen countries in South America, the Pacific oceans and Caribbean citizens will be given visa waiver.
