South Africa releases critical skills visa list of shortage occupations

The Department of Home Affairs in South Africa has released Critical Skills Visa list after the new immigration act was officially announced.

This list clearly identifies the business and professions eligible for work permit irrespective of obtaining an offer of employment.

Malusi Gigaba, Minister of the Department of Home Affairs, expressed his confidence that they have taken measures to check the regulations in National Council of Provinces (NCOP) and hope that they are in accordance with the constitution.

Mkuseli Apleni, Home Affairs Director General, said that they are in need of the people, who can contribute to the economic growth of the country. So, in order to accomplish this they felt the necessity to introduce permit which authorizes people to come to the nation without any difficulty.

Critical Skills List include the following categories such as Business, Economics and Management Studies, Information Communication & Technology, Engineering, Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences,  Life and Earth Sciences, Professionals and Associate Professional, Trades, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Academics and Researchers.
