The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will use prepaid card or automated teller machine card for fees and dues to enhance the comfort of overseas travelers, who are carrying out their activities with the bureau.
BI officials and Land Bank of the Philippines have signed a memorandum of agreement on the setting up of point-of-sale terminals at the offices of BI which has enabled the ‘cashless payment’.
Point-of-sale terminals will be established at the BI offices located at Manila, Magallanes Drive, Cebu, and Intramuros offices in less than coming two weeks.
Chief of BI said that ATM payment will accelerate the transactions such as visa application and extensions, annual reporting of foreigners etc.
