New US visa renewal procedure for Nigerians

The US Mission to Nigeria has proclaimed a new renewal procedure for visa named as Expanded DHL Drop Box Visa program for applicants, effective 2 June 2014.

According to the new system, the visa aspirants who have been formerly granted with a US visa are allowed to renew visas without the need for appearing in an interview.

A statement given by the mission in Lagos reveals that the expired B1/B2 visas within two years before re-issuance and L, H and F visas that have expired within one year before to re-issuance are included in the program.

It also recommends that, in order to find more information regarding renewal criteria, the visa applicants can visit the website of U.S. Embassy in Nigeria. It added that participation in the program does not guarantee a visa for the applicants. However, the applicants will be called to attend visa interviews in few cases.
