Zimbabweans form the largest group of immigrants in South Africa

Zimbabweans constitute highest number of immigrants in South Africa, revealed a study on the nations documented immigrants.

The study has shown that out of 6,801 foreigners granted with permanent residence in South Africa, Zimbabweans have accounted for 1,939.

Zimbabweans formed the single largest group among the nationals granted with temporary residence permits in the country constituting 19 percent of the foreigners approved of such permits previous year. 

In 2013, a total of 101,910 temporary work permits were approved, of which 18,899 temporary residence permits were granted to Zimbabweans.

Zimbabweans continue to move to South Africa seeking for work and superior living conditions.
