12.1% increase in overseas tourist arrivals in last month

Tourism Ministry of India has compiled monthly estimates regarding arrivals of overseas travelers based on country wise and port wise information that has been got from Information Bureau (BOI) and Earnings for Foreign Exchange (FEEs) on basis of information available from RBI.

12.1% increase in overseas tourist arrivals in last month

The key highlights related to FEEs and FTAs during last month are as follows:

FTAs during last month were 8.17 lakh when compared to 7.29 lakh during the same period of 2015 and 6.9 lakh in the year 2014. Increase of 12.1% last year over the 2015 year.

FTAs during these three months of this year were 25.08 lakh with an increase of 10% compared to the arrivals of 22 lakh with an increase of 3.5% during the same period in the year 2015.

During last month,  the foreign tourist arrivals in India from the leading nations are as follows: Bangladesh with 14.07%, UK with 13.16% , US with 11.84%, Canada with 3.57%, Germany with 3.74% Malaysia with 3.45% and Russia with 3.19%. 

The leading airports from where this service of E-Tourist visa was largely availed by the foreign travelers are Delhi with 33.82%, Mumbai with 15.97% Chennai with 7.30%, Bengaluru with 5.44% and Goa with 4.05%.

FEEs during the last month were around 13.115 crores when compared to 11,133 crores similar period last year.

The  rate of development  in FEEs during the last month was 17.85% when compared to 6.25% for similar period last year.
