On August 20, Canada Express Entry held a draw and issued 3,600 invitations to candidates seeking the permanent residence in Canada at a ranking score of 457 or above it.

Canada Immigration Getting a Boost


Through the Express Entry Canada attracts skilled overseas workers. All Eligible candidates gain entry in the Express Entry pool and get the CRS score depending on their education, age, work experience, and language proficiency factors. The top ranking candidates get the ITA for obtaining permanent residence in Canada in regular pool draws.

This draw had the lowest minimum CRS score threshold after May 1 2019. The first step for entering the Express Entry pool is that the candidates have to meet the eligibility requirements of one of three Federal economic-class immigration categories.

These are 

• Canadian Experience Class

• Federal Skilled Worker Class, 

• Federal Skilled Trades Class, 

Canada Jobs and Tie Break Mechanism 


IRCC has applied a tie break mechanism in this draw; and the time set for candidates to submit the profiles was before 15:32:42 UTC on March 24, 2019. 

Thus all candidates obtaining the CRS score of 457, and above it entering the profile in the EE pool before the specific time and date received the ITA. Additionally after this draw the total of invitations issued during the present year stands at 56,200. Also, from Jan 30 to June 26, IRCC issued 3,350 ITAs in Express Entry draws, and after July 10 it is issuing 3,600 ITAs at a regular pace. These draw are helping IRCC in a big way to reach and exceed the record of issuing 89,800 invitations set last year.

Canada Express Entry Marching Ahead


A long period between two draws permits the pool to get more time and also replenish itself with top scoring candidates. The low CRS score in the present draw happened because of the short gap between two draws.

Many provinces participate in Express Entry and offer dedicated streams to allow candidates in the EE pool to seek provincial nomination. The successful candidates obtaining the provincial nomination receive 600 additional CRS points and also get a guarantee in ITA in the later Express Entry draw. Some provincial draws included Express Entry candidates. 

Canada Immigration and Active Role of Provinces


On August 13 British Columbia conducted a Tech Pilot draw in which 73 candidates were invited in Skilled Immigration and Express Entry categories to seek the provincial nomination. The requirement for Candidates was having the job offer in one of 29 occupations in technology sector. PEI also held a draw on August 15 and issued 143 invitations.

Again on August 15, Saskatchewan conducted its draw and issued 150 invitations (45 were linked to Express Entry). On August 19, Ontario held a draw and invited 997 candidates of the Human Capital Priorities Stream in EE to seek provincial nomination.
The first step in streams aligned to Express Entry from the provinces is to submit the EE profile.

The candidates having advanced proficiency in English, apart from a top skill, and a relative in the country, successfully obtained an ITA in this draw. 

Promising Journey of Canada Express Entry:


Canada has a high immigration target for the present year and the next and Holding Large and frequent draws is refreshing. Canadian provinces, were busy in addressing their labor market concerns and the process of targeting high-skilled candidates in the Express Entry pool will continue in the future at a fast pace.
