Armenian citizens benefits from visa

The citizens of Armenia are to get benefitted from the agreement signed with EU that pertains to the simplification of the visa rules, according to Irina Sushko, head of the civil initiative, ‘Europe without Barriers’.

The agreement signed by the parliament of Armenia facilitates travel to EU for short stay, intended for a maximum period of 90 days for every 180 days.

As per the new rules, visa procedure has been made faster, cheaper and simpler. The time for visa decision will take not more than 10 days. However, in cases of urgency; it will take two days or less. The documents to be submitted as part of the visa process have been simplified under certain categories, especially for students, business people, scientists, journalists, close relatives, official delegates, etc.

The conditions for issuing multiple entry visas have also been simplified. The citizens of Armenia, who hold the diplomatic passport, are free from acquiring a visa to EU for short stays. Since 10 January 2013, Armenia exempted the citizens of EU from necessity of a visa.
