Australia is the 12th most sought after work location in the world, reveals a report according to which foreign nationals have accounted for 11.3% of the total job searches in Australia with major countries of origin being India, the USA, the UK and Canada.
A fall in cost of living Australian cities made the country popular among expats. As per a survey conducted by the Mercer Cost of Living, Sydney holds the 26th place after dropping from ninth place, while Melbourne stands at 33rd position after dropping from 16th, and Canberra has gone out of the list of top 50 expensive cities.
The research has also shown that 24.9% of workers in Australia were in search of foreign positions in comparison with a global average of around one in ten workers.
Australian job seekers have majorly looked at US, at the same time India holds second position. IT and technical fields in India were the most desirable sectors for them while USA and UK were the choice of destination for HR professionals.
