The border police that previously known as department of immigration and border protection warned that they have to know their own visa status, had announced operation fortitude to be carried out on Friday and Saturday involving Australia border police officers and Victoria police in the operation.

"ABF officers will be positioned at various locations around the CBD speaking with any individual we cross paths with," said Don Smith.

"You need to be aware of the conditions of your visa. If you commit visa fraud you should know it's only a matter of time before you're caught out."

After the tremendous uproar in social media, the Australian IBP released statements that it would conduct the checks on those people who are referred to them.

"To be clear, the ABF does not and will not stop people at random in the streets...The ABF does not target on the basis of race, religion or ethnicity," the spokesperson said.

However, the questions arise as how the Border Force will they distinguish the locals and visa holders amid the growing clamor in the social media about the planned operation.
