Millions of foreign workers tend to enter Australia in the coming five years

Australia could be overwhelmed with millions of additional foreign workers in the coming five years, according to an agency of federal government.

Over 1 million foreign workers having work rights or 10 percent of the nation’s work force are in Australia on temporary visas. 

Executive of the Fair Work Ombudsman, Natalie James said that the present tendency shows that number of foreign workers could increase between 2.5 million and 3.5 million in the coming five years.

Working holiday-makers, 457 skilled visa holders, students and individuals on bridging visas may be among the foreigners with work rights.  

Ombudsman’s investigation has revealed that 128,000 working holiday- maker visas were issued during the first half of 2013-14.
