Backchannel efforts started for resolving US visa fee matter

In its initial backchannel diplomatic attempt since official announcement of current visa fee increase move by the US,  group of representatives from the US Congress holds a meeting with the USIBC and Nasscom for discussing the prospects and challenges that includes those around visa for technology companies of India.

The meeting witnessed participation from Nasscom member firms and five US Congress members. The delegation was led by the US Congressmen Ami Bera would also meet business leaders and senior officials from government for gaining a deeper understanding of the prospects for the collaboration between the nations.

Beri is the only Indian American presently serving the US Congress is also the Chairman of House India Caucus in the US Representatives House.

According to the USIBC president, Mukesh Aghi, the meeting was vital as it gave the tech firms of India a chance to showcase their contributions towards the economy of the US. They also emphasize that the IT sector of India which is worth 148 billion USD is the crown jewel of the economy of India. And it is also tremendously significant to the bilateral ties between India and the US.

As per Congressmen Ami Bera, the visit to India had offered a great insight in the prospects as both India and the US has to strengthen and develop their technology sectors.
