2018 was a good year for Express Entry Candidates and the Canada jobs in the tech sector accounted for a major share in it.
Express Entry-linked categories show an impressive performance
British Columbia Express Entry-linked categories have issued 3,100 nominations for the aspirants of permanent residence in Canada during 2018, as per a new report of the provincial government. 2,000 nominations were received by the candidates in the Express Entry B.C: Skilled Worker Category and 936 nominations were received by the international graduates belonging to post-secondary institutions of the province using the EEBC International Graduate Category.

Moreover, 3,100 nominations in the Express Entry candidates, after using the EEBC categories, in 2018, resulted in the increase of 750 nominations in comparison to the figures of 2017. This also was a 48 percent share of total nominations of the
British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program in the year.
The Express Entry system is the main source to attract skilled overseas workers in Canada. Here the provinces and territories participate in the Provincial Nominee Programs and nominate such Express Entry candidates in Canadian permanent residence by using the special and enhanced streams for nominations.
Also such nominations, gained by using the PNP streams, aligned by Express Entry, give 600 extra points in rank where the receiver effectively gets the assurance of an invitation seeking the Canadian permanent residence.

The Canadian Government has set a processing time of six months for applications seeking the permanent residence in Canada which are submitted by using the system of Express Entry.
The EEBC Stream of BCPNP runs four immigration categories with a link to the Express Entry system. These are:

• EEBC: International Post-Graduates
• EEBC: Healthcare Professionals
Canadian Immigration Increase in Numbers
In order to get a consideration in nomination by using the EEBC International Graduate and Skilled Worker categories, the interested candidates need a registration under the Skills Immigration Registration System of the BCPNP. Issuing Registrations is based on the score depending on many factors. These enter a pool of candidates after which the top ranking persons receive an invitation to apply towards the provincial nomination in regular pool draws.
In 2018, there were 1,987 nominations the Skilled Worker Category but these were 1,188 in 2017 showing an increase of 806.
Also there was an increase in Nominations in the EEBC: International Post-Graduate as well as among Healthcare Professionals but there was a decrease in the International Graduate Category.

Canada jobs -Skills Immigration nominees
There was an increase in Nominations among the Skilled Workers having a registration in the Skills Immigration Program of the BCPNP. This is not having an alignment with the system of Express Entry.
The Program has issued 1,607 nominations to Skilled Workers in 2018, an increase from 1,218 in 2017. Additionally the registrants needed having the eligible job offer from a provincial employer.
There was an increase in Nominations among the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Category in 2018 in comparison to 2017 and also in International Post-Graduate Category. Finally there was a decrease in Nominations in the International Graduates reaching 636 from 1,334 in the previous year.

Canadian Immigration -Tech Pilot nominations
There was an increase of 19.7 percent in the nominations in BCPNP technology jobs during 2018. The figures of the previous year in nominations had an increase of from 17.2% only.
Nominees having the tech job offer in EEBC and SI had a total of 1,141 and the total of other occupations was 4,658.
The BC PNP Tech Pilot invites candidates on a weekly basis in its 29 tech-related positions, among other criteria.

Indian candidates seeking Immigration were dominant participants in Skills Immigration nominations during 2018. Chinese Citizens were at the second place.
