Canada introduces online electronic visa (eTA)

Canada has introduced a new requirement that permits an entry through electronic travel authorization (eTA) for all the visa exempted foreign nationals other than US citizens traveling through the air.

The eTA system started on 1st August 2015 allow eligible travelers to apply from online for eTA, and from the next year march 15 onwards the new entry requirement will be mandatory to all the travelers requiring an eTA before boarding a flight to Canada.

Citizenship and immigration Canada (CIC) encourages all potential travelers to apply from online by providing the basic and personal information very similar of currently processed when arrive into Canada.

The new application boasts a paperless and very convenient process as most of eTA applicants will get approval within minutes, at the same time quick service upon the arrival in Canada.

The eTA is an electronic link to the passport of the traveler with validity for five years or until the expiration of their passport.

An eTA costs $C7 for each applicant and can be made through any device, most applications will be granted within the minutes.
