The Immigration Minister of Canada is looking to make a program that would fast tracks the PR for skilled employees the top choice for businesses who seek employees from abroad.
He also told that he is seeking inputs as the Canadian government continues to review its Express Entry Program.
He informed that he currently met with the business persons under various streams who ranked various streams they can utilize for bringing in the immigrants.
Express Entry earlier was launched by the Canadian government to meet the labor requirement of Canada by securing permanent residency for high skilled overseas employees within six month or less.
The immigration Minister has earlier said that they are going to start a review of this program and also hopes to make it easy for the foreign students in becoming PR after they had completed their graduation from Canada.
The Minister said that the challenge is to enhance the express entry for making it more flexible, more accessible, more desirable, and more fluid for those businesses who seek to bring in immigrants to the nation.
He informed that the Canadian government is looking at many alternatives and that includes providing additional points to students under Express Entry that presently prioritizes skilled immigrant employees.
He also said that the foreign students are the best source of immigrants. Government is also considering restricting or removing the use of LMIA under express entry. Changes to the way foreign students being assessed under this program is certainly going to happen.
The Minister told that there is urgency in this matter and he also hoped that it would soon be providing extra points to the students.
