China considers expanding visa free regime for foreigners

With the intention to boost tourism, China is likely to expand its three-day visa-free regime for foreigners.

The authorities China are considering to fast-track visa processing, which will gradually optimize visa free stays for foreign travelers. The visa regime is already implemented for Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Guilin, Kunming, Dalian, Shanghai, Chongqing, Xian and Shenyang cities.

China anticipates that this expansion will help to boost tourism to and from Africa, Asia, central and eastern Europe. In addition to this, the State Council is planning to ease the process of getting business certificates from local tourism authorities for international funded travel agencies.

It is expected that these better policies will help China to draw more tourists from overseas.
