Canada IEC visa for Irish - Visareporter News
An additional 3,850 working holiday visas will be made available from 1st April, after the first round of quota got exhausted in seven minutes. And the Irish people who are eagerly waiting to enter Canada under this International Experience Canada (IEC) can make use of this second round that will probably start from April 1st, 2014.  The exact time is not yet confirmed, but it will most likely start at 8 PM Irish time.

Within a record time, the first round was finished in seven minutes. The key to success amidst such tough competition is to have everything ready and apply by the time other candidate file  for their IEC visas. It is suggested that applicants should have already set up IEC Kompass account and should apply through it; applicants are allowed to login to the system ten minutes before the start time.

For more information on this and how to prepare your application, go through the information that is available on the Irish Canada Immigration Centre’s guide to International Experience Canada. You can also find detailed information on the Irish-run websites that have good FAQ’s on this subject matter. Additionally, CIC’s website also has information about preparing for the application process and a committed Facebook discussion forum for clearing doubts on IEC applications.

Candidates who can secure a job offer from a Canadian company that will support his/her career development, can apply for the ‘new young professional’ category visa, which is the best alternative to the working holiday visa. Currently, out of the 2,500 visas that are available for the young professionals’ stream, only 79 have been taken up so far. Interns can also make use of international co-op visas.
