Dubai sees an increase of 8.88% rise in immigration transactions

Major-General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Naturalization and Residency Department,  has announced that the immigration authorities of Dubai have seen significant rise in projects and business during the first half of 2014.

He said that immigration officials have dealt with 31,032,662 transactions in 2014 when compared to equivalent period in 2013. A sharp rise of 8.8% is ascribed to the happening economic boom in the UAE. 

Marri said that his department has let companies employing more than 100 employees to extend the period of validity of their residence visas online. Thus, resulting is 299,667 transactions in the initial six months of 2014.

GDRFAD - Deputy Director-General, Major-General Obeid Muhair Bin Suroor, said around 616,170 SMS alerts were sent to people belonging to the emirate to renew passports and residents to renew e-gate cards and residence visas.
