E-Tourist visa facility for US travelers in April

In the month of April, US travelers availed the e-Tourist Visa scheme followed by Russia and Australia as the overall number of overseas who are availing this facility have increased by 19,000. With the extension of E- Tourist Visa facility by the existing government of the nation the count of overseas individuals who have been benefited from the new facility has been gradually increased when compared to the figure of the previous year.   

As per the new records of Tourism, Ministry data, USA has accounted the overall count of around (31.83 percent) by availing the facility of electronic-Tourist Visa during April, followed by Russian Federation (12.27 percent), Australia (11.42 percent), Germany (9.37 percent), Republic of Korea (4.6 percent), Ukraine (4.36 percent), Thailand (3.56 percent), Mexico (2.93 percent), New Zealand (2.67 percent), and Japan (2.37 percent).

TVoA ( Tourist visa on Arrival) that has been certified by the ETA(Electronic Travel Authorization) was put forth on 27 November 2014 for 43 nations, was extended to the all the citizens of Sri Lanka and Guyana in January and April 2015. 

Furthermore, the benefit will be extended to the natives of 31 nations in May 2015.

Almost 94,998 of the tourists have taken the e-tourist Visa in the period of January to April of  this year compared to 8,008 of the same period in the previous year, recording a growth of 1,086.3 percent.
