E-Tourist visas registered a whopping 2713% growth in November

As many as 83,501 overseas tourists had arrived in the nation on the e-tourist visa last month this year registering a record high growth of 2713.4% when compared to 2,968 during the last year’s October month.

TVoA(Tourist Visa on Arrival), which is enabled by the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), also known as e-tourist visa was launched on 27th November 2014.

According to the statement from the Ministry of Tourism, the UK continues to be on the top of the list, which is followed by the countries like the US, Germany and France who are among the nations whose citizens had availed the facility of e-tourist visa while visiting India.

The Ministry also informed that during the start of this year till the month of November, around 3,41,683 travelers had arrived in India on this e-tourist visa when compared to merely 24,963 during the same period of the last year, also registering a growth of 1268.8%.

The Ministry also said that around 23.93% of the e-tourist visas went to the citizens from the UK during last month, which is followed by the US with 16.33%, Russia with 8.17%, France with 7.54%, Germany with 5.60% and Australia with 4.8%. 

Canada with 4.71%, China with 3.26%, Ukraine with 2.03% and Netherlands with 1.75%. Presently the facility of the e-tourist visa has been made available for the citizens of 113 nations coming at 16 airports in India.
