E-visa to travel to Turkey for some nationals of Philippines

E-visa
The Bureau of Immigration, Phillipines, has made an announcement regarding travel to Turkey. This is that Philippine nationals who have ordinary passports and also a valid visa or residence permit of any one of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), or Schengen countries can file an application online for an e-visa, through http://www.evisa.gov.tr/, if they want to visit Turkey as a tourist.

This information was provided through a news release posted on the agency’s Facebook page. The information provided on the web page also stated that an applicant can get the electronic visa by entering the requisite information. As for the fees, it can be paid online.
After the application is filled up, completed and submitted, an e-Visa will be e-mailed to the applicant. The applicant can then show it at the entry gates of the immigration and customs departments of Turkey. He/she should also carry it (i.e. the e-visa) with him/her all through his/her stay in Turkey.

It is to be noted that an e-visa is valid only for travel or trade. So, if other types of Turkish visas are required, the appropriate application has to be submitted at the relevant consulate or embassy.

It is being hoped by the governments of the two countries, that this new e-visa facility will ease the difficulties of travelling between the two countries and thereby enhance tourism and trade relations between them.
