ETA to become compulsory for entering into Canada

Airlines flying into Canada would now need an ETA for customers to complete the process of check in. The individual who does it online would not get printed boarding pass if their eTA is not recognized.

ETA applications could be finished through the Canadian government webportal. The processing time could be five minutes and it presently cost around 3.40 pounds.

ETA would stay valid for five year period of time.

Broader control scheme act like program of e-system for Travel Authorization of the US (ESTA) with biographical data and medical history needed. The criminal history is also required to be declared. Visitors should apply minimum of 72 hours prior travel or risk being denied entry into Canada.

People with serious health problems or previous illegal convictions would not be applicable for documentations.

As per the spokesman from IRCC, Canada motivates individuals to begin applying now if they propose to visit Canada. And don’t want to demotivate individuals with this ETA program. The period of leniency that the program was going through was to avoid stress and confusion during peak months of summer. 

From 15th March till 29th September ETA was not mandatory need if the traveler  submit their documents like a legal passport. During these dates visitors were checked at immigration. Travelers without an eTA were given a leaflet of data regarding reforms in immigration policy.
