Gabon to soon begin its launch of e-visas and website

Travelers to Gabon, a country located in Central Africa can now apply online for visas. This was declared in Gabon’s capital, Libreville on Friday by the chief of DGDI, Celestin Embinga. Embinga who is a police general said that these latest changes formed part of the nation’s e-government projects which were meant to make public services more easily available to citizens of Gabon. He went on to say that the e-visa comprises of administering for an entry visa into the country online. It only required filling up of the form and clicking on the send button.

Gabon is an oil-rich and wealthy country, consisting of 1.8 million people. This nation came up last year in Francophone Africa for its ICT sector which was so well-developed. Those people who travel regularly to this country as well as potential tourists to Gabon have greeted the Gabon government’s decision to permit foreigners to apply through the internet for visas.  This will make things easier and will save one’s time and energy by doing away with the long wait in queues for submitting visa applications.

According to Embinga, the newly launched website would aid Gabon tourists, overseas students, temporary workers and the business class to find all the requisite information they needed about studying, working or living in the country. Also, one could find entry requirements and how to acquire a travel document.
