Immigration limit increased for Nova Scotia under its Nominee Program

Canadian Immigration Minister, John McCallum had agreed on 300 after couple of conversations in the meeting with the ruler of Nova Scotia.

The immigration limit has been increased due to the increase in aging population in the province. it is desperate for the immigrants.  The minister also hoped that they would be able to generate many immigrants and that the province would get more. And it is just in its early stages.

Previous September, Nova Scotia has successfully lobbied the Canadian government for same increase in its allocation for the year 2015, that ended up at 1,350. The latest Liberal government in Ottawa had set the NSNP limit for this year at 1,050, but both the parties have now agreed to come at the 1,350 mark.

Nova Scotia Premier told that he is pleased that the Immigration Minister had recognized the increase in the number of immigrants.  There are commitments by federal government to be made to recognize the work that the people of Nova Scotia are doing  and also hoped that they would permit Nova Scotia to lead in the Atlantic Canada for making sure that the immigrants who visit Atlantic Canada reside not just here in Nova Scotia but also in its sister provinces.
