Increase in Indian students studying at universities in Scotland

Students from India are studying overseas than ever before. And among many other countries, Scotland has been always attracting the students with its centuries old universities, strong employability focus and its cutting edge facilities of research.

Increase in Indian students studying at universities in Scotland

Presently there are around 1490 students from India who are studying in the Scotland universities. And over the previous two years, there has been 14% yearly rise in students arriving to the Edinburgh University. Each year over 46,000 foreign students from over 180 nations arrive here to study in the universities of Scotland. 

The employability is set in as the strong focus within the curriculum in Scotland. This promise returns bonus as the universities in Scotland are proud to boast the high rate of positive destinations in the UK. Out of ten, nine graduates went on to work or study further within the six months of finishing their education.

Students from India who want to study in Scotland would get access to the similar job training and opportunities as all other students. As there remains a strong job market for foreign students who need to find an employer to sponsor their job visa.  There are more than 29000 businesses in the UK who are licensed to sponsor a Tier 2 visa for the international students and in the previous year, more than 4000 students from abroad went on to become sponsored under the Tier 2 visa scheme.

Scotland has also witnessed many students from India who is taking up work opportunities in the Scotland and the UK after completing their graduation. 
Scotland universities has been at the leading edge of knowledge and thought with some of the old centres of education in the world.  Scotland has the largest rate of graduate employment in the whole of the UK and the biggest average graduate starting income.

Every university in Scotland does some research that is judged to be among world leading quality which means that the students are being taught in environment which is shared by the leading academics. The researchers in the universities of Scotland had been responsible for many world-changing discoveries and innovations.

Universities in Scotland have been working with Indian students for more than 100 years on searching mutual solutions to the challenges like advanced biosciences and renewable energy.

Around 19 institutes in Scotland provides scholarships that are specific to the students from India.  The government of Scotland has also offered a Saltire Scholarship for any student from India visiting to study Masters, which is worth 2000 pounds. The entire fund is value of 4,00,000 pounds every year.
