India considers introduction of e-visa facility in Goa

E-visas to promote Goa's tourism, Culture and Tourism

The Union Tourism Minister, Shripad Yesso Naik, has announced that the liberalization of the visa system at Goa airport will enhance tourism in the state.

He noted that, only 12 countries are being offered the facility of Visa on Arrival (VOA) at the Goa airport while the e-visa facility system can cover more number of countries. Besides this, the proposal to issue e-visas for foreign tourists is also under consideration.

World-class facilities would help in boost tourism in state and the Goa’s tourism map is employment based adding fuel to the sector, according to Naik. Thus, introduction e-visas are expected to promote tourism in the Indian state.
