India has expressed deep concerns with the UK about the country's latest immigration law that would put an impact on the professionals who are earning below 35,000 pounds yearly.

India has raised the visa matter with UK Minister

According to Commerce Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, a meeting was held with the Immigration Minister of the UK, Mr. James Brokenshire, for raising the concerns from India on the visa fee issue for the Indian professionals.

The Industry and Commerce Minister had accompanied with the Indian Prime Minister to Brussels, hop over to London for meeting the UK Immigration Minister.

The minister told that India already had earlier taken up same issues concerning visa regulations from the US at WTO. The Indian professionals had formed highest category of individuals who are granted visas by UK  in the past.

Around 55,589 Tier 2 visas were issued last year and out of them 78% visas went to Indian professionals which was around 31,058. 

This Tier 2 visa is provided on basis of Sponsorship certificate that is issued to UK based companies for hiring professionals from foreign countries and allow them a stay period of six years. After few years, these employees could apply for PR.
