As many as 22, 286 foreign tourists arrived in India on E – tourist visa in last month, this is much higher when compared to last year’s August month figures that stood at 2,705. There has been a growth of 723.9 percent.
Foreign nationals coming from 113 countries that arrive at 16 airports across the nation can avail this e- tourist visa facility.
According to the Tourism Ministry information, the number o f tourists who arrived on e-tourist visa from beginning of this year and till the last month were 1,69,976. With the increased growth rate of 829.9 percent, when compared to only 17,120 arrivals during the same month last year’s arrivals.
Tourists from USA tops the list in availing this e-tourist visa facility with the 25.93%, followed by 10 %tourists from Germany, 8.92% from UAE, 8.76% from France, 7.20% from Australia and 6.39% from Canada.
