According to the information which was revealed in the quarterly report of UK Migration Statistics, India is leading the list of nations of departure for UK immigrants.
Listing the nation of the final residence among the immigrants who had migrated to the UK in the year 2014, India is leading in this list representing around 45,000 immigrants or 8% of the entire immigration population who are staying in the UK. Followed by China with 7% and Romania with 6% and Spain and Poland with 5%.
This is the third time in previous five years that India stood at top of the list of nations of final residence. It was important shift compared to the last year, when China was ranked first and India stood at third position.
Migration to the UK from India, saw an increase previous year for the first time since the year 2011. While the immigrants coming from India were total of 65,000 in the year 2010. This number decreased to less than 61,000 in the year 2011 and even more to 33,000 in the year 2013.
The report also informed that the migration to the UK from the Asian countries had witnessed a drop in the year 2011-13.
The report also revealed that the citizens from the non EU countries had continued to account for a larger share of immigration when compared to the citizens from the EU nations.
Form the year June 2014 to June 2015, around 6,36,000 immigrants had arrived in the UK, while around 3,00,000 people had immigrated from the UK, that had set the net immigration sum for that period at around 3,36,000.
India does not always remain the dominant immigration country to the UK, as Australia was also among the other countries who had top the list. The other countries were the US and Pakistan. India had entered the list of most immigrants to the UK since the year 2009 and since then it had continued to remain among top nations of origin.
