USA issues maximum number of visas to Indians, says Stefan M Selig

While replying to the question that IT professionals were hurt due to the higher visa fees enforced after the US border security act has come into effect, he goes on saying "I think we are making a lot of progress on it".

He told that the US will continue to work along with Indian government in order to meet the demand for the US visas.

The Indian IT industry has been raising the issue quite often about the impact of the higher visa fees and more number of visas is being rejected by the USA.

The US government has substantially increased the amount of fees required for the H1B visa and L1 categories for the applicants that employ higher than 50 employees in the United States or that greater than 50 percent employees taken on non-immigrant visas.

The hike has been a tremendous impact on the Indian IT companies which sends a higher number of employees to work in the United States, as the company’s earnings mostly come from the overseas countries, in particular, the USA.
